Rivers state: The Executive Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Onengiyeofori George has announced support to renovate Owukori Memorial Hall. He has pledged a sum of N10 Million towards the initiative.

The Owukori Memorial Hall is situated at the DA Wokoma compound in Buguma City. The structure is an important part of the history of the city.

The Asari Toru LGA executive chairman made the pledge while addressing members of the DA Wokoma Group of Houses and Communities. They came together during the 28th Covenant Thanksgiving Service held at the Owukori Square, Wokoma Compound.

Onengiyeofori George said the N10 Million support for the renovation would be made available at month’s end. He is making the donation through his humanitarian foundation, Daclin Group, on behalf of his family.

The aim of the donation was to show solidarity in the bond he shares with members of the DA Wokoma Group.

The Chairman emphasized the importance of Thanksgiving as a means to receive more blessings from God. He also acknowledged the Da Wokoma Group of Houses as a united family within ASALGA. He appreciated that the group has embraced peace and harmonious coexistence.

He however urged the Wokoma family to consistently embrace peace, as his administration is wholeheartedly committed to delivering the invaluable benefits of democracy to the people of Asalga. He asserted that peace and harmonious coexistence are indispensable for the realization of these remarkable dividends.

Earlier in his speech, the Paramount Head of DA Wokoma Group of Houses and Communities, Alabo Norman Fifth Opunabo Bessey Wokoma (Kuruye Alele VII), commended the Executive Chairman of ASALGA for his instrumental role in maintaining peace within the area.

Alabo Bessey Wokoma also recognized the council boss as one of the key contributors to the success of the annual Thanksgiving Service, acknowledging his significant contributions.

The 28th edition of the Covenant Thanksgiving Service of the Da Wokoma Group of Houses and Communities was graced by the presence of chiefs, elders, members of the Wokoma family both at home and abroad, as well as friends, in-laws, and well-wishers of the Da Wokoma Group of Houses and Communities.
