KwaZulu Natal (Phoenix): A 46-year-old man was killed during a robbery at a bar in Phoenix – KZN on Saturday morning around 1:02.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Phoenix Operations Centre received a call for help at night around 1:00 am, and after reaching the crime location, RUSA officers found that four suspects entered the bar and held up employees and patrons.
Reports also indicated that the deceased drew his firearm and shot at the four suspects, and in return, the second suspect fired a volley of shots which struck the man in his head and body, which led him to die.
Then, Robbers robbed his firearm, and the first injured suspect dragged himself to an awaiting white Suzuki, which sped off in an unknown direction.
Reports also indicated that the deceased is a resident of Johannesburg – Gauteng. He was celebrating a friend’s birthday at the time of the incident.
Moreover, several spent 9mm cartridges were recovered at the scene. Residents are in shock with the incident as this is quite impossible for them to bear the loss.
One of his known also gave an interview in which he said that the deceased person was his sister’s classmate and her sister had been crying since morning. He also said, “he was an awesome person, so people should be kind towards others.”
“This is so sad; my sister called me this morning crying; it’s her former school friend; I can say he was an awesome person, so people be kind and considerate to his family, RIP dear soul,” said the Known person.
Moreover, people consider him a hero as other resident said, “Well done to the Patron, a few more of the trash would have been good, you will be remembered as a hero, condolences to the family ,as much as you’ll are hurting be proud of him!!!”
