Zambia: Copper Queens skipper Barbra Banda dropped a bombshell ahead of today’s WAFCON qualifier against Angola that the youngsters are knocking so hard on the door such that even her place is not assured in the starting eleven.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games record setter with her back-to-back hat-tricks and FIFA World Cup 2023 1000th goal scorer said watching the youthful Cosafa squad chalk impressive results reminded her of how hard everyone needs to work in the Zambian squad.

Barbra scored a hat-trick in the 6-0 victory over Angola in the first leg and is looking to pick up from where she left off despite her modest posture.

“I might say I am experienced, but even the young players that are there are doing well; you can see the players that played Cosafa. I was even scared that where am I going to fit in because they really did well. we just keep on encouraging them and find their positions in the first line up,” she said.

Barbra said Zambia will not take their feet off the pedal today as they face Angola in the second leg of the final qualifying round of the Morocco 2024 WAFCON.

“The is ready for the game; as a team we are not relaxed as we still have unfinished business with Angola. The morale in camp is high, and we are looking forward to tomorrow’s game.”

Zambia leads 6-0 from the first leg and is on the cusp of a third consecutive WAFCON qualification should they finish off Angola today (Tuesday) at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in an 18H00 kick-off.

Tickets for the match are still selling across Shoprite outlets at K20, K30, K50 and K100.
