Botswana: The Ministry of Education and Skills Development is all set to launch the Botswana Learning Passport. The official launch of the passport will be held on August 21, 2024 at Mogoditshane Senior Secondary School.
The new passport will be launched in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF). The launch vent will start at 0900hrs. The Minister of Education and Skills Development, Dr Douglas Letsholathebe will launch the program.
The other members of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development will also be present at the event. The Botswana Learning Passport will help the students of the nation get easier access to quality education facilities.
The officials have shared that the new initiative will also help in the development of the education sector. The modern facilities and various assets will be at the students disposal to assist them in their educational career.
The Deputy Director-Curriculum Development, Dr. Shadrek Majwabe has also spoken about the Learning Passport initiative in a recent radio interview.
About the Botswana Learning Passport
The Botswana Learning Passport is a learning management system which delivers quality education to the students of Botswana. This is done by hosting and providing content for all subjects in the curriculum, e-library services, revision materials and learner performance tracking.
It is aimed at providing accessible and quality education to children across the entire country. Its objectives are; access to education, quality learning, digital inclusion and support material.
Furthermore, the Botswana Learning Passport will offer diverse and comprehensive curriculum tailored to the needs of different age groups and regions covering core subjects and life skills. It will also offer interactive learning, engaging materials and teacher support.
The launch of the Botswana Leaning Passport signifies a significant milestone in advancing national and global efforts in promoting inclusive opportunities for all children nationwide. This initiative has the potential to transform the lives of thousands of children who are currently in dire need of e-content including those who are out of school in the educational journey.
