Roseau, Dominica: The Cable Car Project in Dominica is progressing rapidly. The Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) visited the construction site to inspect it.
The purpose of the visit by ECCAA was to check whether the site was ready for the landing of a helicopter. As, the material was to be taken up from the bottom station to the top via helicopter.
The inspection team included Benoit Bardouille, CEO of DASPA (Dominica Air and Sea Ports Authority), Jaime Calseron, ECCAA Aerodrome Expert from Mexico. Considerably, on seeing the progress on the Cable Car mid-station site, the expert expressed excitement about the project.
Seeing the progress of the Cable Car project ahead of the helicopter installation, the ECCA Aerodrome Expert, Jaime Calderon, said that, “The cable car project is extremely exciting and having visited many developmental projects around the Caribbean, I must say that this is truly a one of a kind project.”
Jaime Calderon also mentioned how it is refreshing for a small-island nation like Dominica to come forward with a project of this magnitude, “It is also the first time a helicopter will be used in Dominica in this capacity which further adds to the intrigue.”
“We’re really super excited about this project. I had the idea that the progress of the Cable Car Project was in full swing. But after visiting the site for inspection, I’m sure that this project will do wonders,” said Jaime Calderon.
Meanwhile, the Construction Manager for the Cable Car Dominica project, Randy Gliege, ensured the inspectors that, “The progress on site is rapidly progressing over the next few days in preperation for the helicopter’s arrival on island.”
As the ECCAA expert highlighted that ‘the project will do wonders’, it actually is going to contribute greatly towards the tourism sector of the country, which will further lead towards the overall development.
Significantly, the country is on its path to be the World’s first climate resilient nation, such a development would add a special feature to the nation, highlighting the sustainable development. The enhancement in mobility through this project is an assured outline which will contribute towards the economic boost.
The project is undergoing continuous development, recently it came forward that 210 local employed workers are doing great with dedication and devotion for the completion of the project.
Even last Wednesday, the tourism Minister, Denise Charles visited the site with the Cabinet sub-ministerial committee to witness the progress, and extended pleasure seeing the works. The construction works for the Cable Car Project commenced in 2022 in the month of January and is expected to be completed by 2025.
After the construction, the cable car would offer a great journey to the boiling lake, offering beautiful scenic views of natural beauty that would ensure calmness to one’s eyes.
Most Importantly, the journey, which now covers a hiking route of 13 km, will be covered just in minutes after the completion of The Cable Car Project.
