EFF leader Julius Malema wants Ramaphosa to answer in Parliament

The EFF demanded an answer from President Cyril Ramaphosa regarding the money stolen from his farm in February 2020, and they also presented a list of questions. 

According to EFF leader ‘Julius Malema’, his party had submitted questions regarding rule 145 of the National Assembly. 

According to the rules of Parliament, the president has ten days to respond.

Malema made a series of allegations against Ramaphosa, blaming the president for money laundering and tax evasion because of the huge amount of money kept at his Phala Phala farm in Limpopo. 

However, EFF declined the sources of the video, which they played at a media meeting, allegedly from the 2020 matter. The video shows men creeping into a house.

Ramaphosa has been in the limelight since the disclosures. 

The report was revealed after ex-State Security Agency director-general Arthur Fraser opened a criminal case against Ramaphosa. 

Moreover, he did not report the burglary at his residence. There were questions about why he had chosen not to say the incident to SAPS and, instead, permitted his head of security to investigate the matter.

The EFF team wants Ramaphosa to answer the following questions: 

• .How much money was kept at the farm, and in what currency?
• Was it the whole proceeds of the game auction, or was there more money that came from elsewhere?
• Who bought the game, where and when?
• Did he [Ramaphosa] reveal to Parliament and the executive the amount of money stored at the farm?
• Did he alert the payment collector of such an amount of money?
• Why did he not register a case of theft at a police station and decide to report to a bodyguard, who is not allowed to open dockets and conduct investigations?
• Will he open a criminal case with the police at a police station about the burglary and robbery at the farm?
• Provide proof beyond a fair doubt that the money stored at the farm was game proceeds.
• Did he ever obtain a huge amount of money from donors during his assignment as deputy president and president of the country?
• Does he have areas other than the Phala Phala farm, where he has stored massive amounts of money? If so, what are the facts by venue and stored amounts?
• Did he call the president of Namibia to set for the illegal extradition of the people who took the money from the farm?

Malema blamed, without providing evidence, that he believed Ramaphosa was involved in a money-laundering scheme. 

According to Malema, his interest in the matter was that Ramaphosa was not an ordinary citizen like others. He believed the president was meant to report the matter of rov=bbery at his home to the public.

The EFF wants Ramaphosa to get out of it while the police investigate the matter against him. 

The party think that, while Ramaphosa is in office, he might interrupt the investigation. 

Furthermore, Malema stated that they would treat the Ramaphosa in the same way as ex-president Jacob Zuma was treated. 

“We offered Ramaphosa a chance to prove himself, and he has miserably failed. We will behave with him the same way we behaved with Zuma. He must leave the office with direct effect because he has not respected his promise of office. That office must be occupied by a man of integrity and not a hypocrite,” Malema said.
