South Africa: The EPWP, in collaboration with Nkangala District Municipality, is proud and honoured to be celebrating the graduation of Security Officers who completed their practical and theoretical Security Training accredited by the Safety and Security Sector Education & Training Authority (SASSETA), NQF Level 3, learners.

South Africa: The EPWP, in collaboration with Nkangala District Municipality, is proud and honoured to be celebrating the graduation ceremony of Security Officers who completed their practical and theoretical Security Training accredited by the Safety and Security Sector Education & Training Authority (SASSETA), NQF Level 3, learners.

The ceremony was officially opened by the MMC, Cllr L. Mahlangu, who further encouraged the learners to make use of the certificates to pursue more opportunities in the formal labour market.

The learners were contracted in November 2020 and concluded their formal training in November 2021 in the training field of General Safety and Security Practices, which included: 

  1. 4 months of theory 
  2. 8 months of practical training. 

A total of 30 learners -17 female and 13 male youth were recruited from all surrounding local municipalities under the Nkangala District Municipality. 

All learners were placed at different companies around the District Municipality for their practicals.

They have all exited and permanently employed in the companies where they were allocated for their practicals.

The recruitment of another 30 cohorts of learners was completed recently. Their training commenced in November 2022 and will end in November 2023.

Mr Isaac Mothapo from the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure- EPWP Nelspruit Regional Office congratulated Learners for this achievement “I am hereby today declaring you as Ambassadors of EPWP, by now you have in-depth knowledge and experience of EPWP and its benefits. Please go out there and preach the message about the good deeds of EPWP.

In his closing remarks, Honourable Cllr Banda thanked the learners and their parents for their dedication and for completing the training programme. “Together changing lives for the better.”
