Botswana: Botswana Youth, Gender, Sports and Culture launched their Artsy Wednesday in which they introduced the journey of Itumeleng Junior Boitshwarelo, an Artist by profession raised in Gaborone. He is known to have achieved milestones in his life as he became a headline on BBC from a normal painter.
Itumeleng Junior Boitshwarelo, also known as Itumeleng JB, is a self-taught Graffiti Mural Artist, Painter, Digital Artist, Live Performer, and Pro Designer who was born and raised in Gaborone, Botswana and is now based in Pretoria, South Africa.
Itumeleng works through various mediums, typically blending spray paint with any form of fabrication, walls, wood, steel, or plastic. He continues to create artworks through visuals that embody the essence of African stories. His works are a combination of cultural history and something entirely new.
The paintings and creations he produces can be classified as contemporary paintings or surrealistic art. Itumeleng’s art has attracted coverage from international media, with the BBC reporting on his awe-inspiring works.
