Despite several warnings, the Commander Land Forces, Lt Gen Mouhoozi Kainerugaba, Karamajong are not stopping from doing their illegal activities, noting that the UPDF is now coming with hell to deal with them.

According to a tweet by Gen Muhoozi, “My Karimojong, brother! We have begged you to stop the life of robbery and violence. We have begged you to stop attacking your neighbours but to no avail! You have refused all our appeals! Now we are coming, and hell is coming with us.”

“The criminals of Karimojong killed my soldiers in cold blood! Now, he has to pay me for this!! If they want to protect from the penalty, they have to come in touch with my RDCs and commanders in the region now!! Otherwise, we will show them who is real men.”

The warning came after the deadly attack happened on the backdrop of a deadly attack in which three geologists with the Ministry of Energy and their two army guards were shot dead by suspected rustlers, and their two guns were stolen.

The geologists had gone to Moroto in order to map out the minerals.

However, a team of joint security of the police and UPDF has used the carrot and the stick method to encourage the rustlers to voluntarily hand over their guns and force the rest of them to abandon them, deadly attacks by the warriors have persisted.

According to ‘Brig Joseph Balikudembe‘ is the Commander of the UPDF 3 division and overall Commander of the operation, their team has recovered several guns; at the same time, they also arrested nearly 1724 warriors, and 316 of these have been prosecuted.

Attacks from the side of cattle rustlers on members of the public and security have been at their peak in the area in the past few months.

Whereas the UPDF and Police launched joint security operations against the rustlers, the deadly attacks have continued.
