Zambia: The Football Association of Zambia wishes to confirm that the opponents for this evening’s 2026 Group E FIFA World Cup qualifier, Congo Brazzaville, have arrived in the country.
FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga says the Congo Brazzaville contingent arrived at 04:10 hours at the Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport.
Meanwhile, FAZ wishes to inform its members and stakeholders that tickets for this evening’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Zambia and Congo Brazzaville are still selling across Shoprite outlets.
Kamanga has urged fans to get to any Shoprite outlet and purchase their tickets for the match.
“We wish to thank fans who have been trooping to various Shoprite outlets to purchase tickets ahead of this evening’s match. We wish to encourage fans that have not yet purchased their tickets to get theirs now and be part of the fun at the stadium,” Kamanga says.
“We wish to appeal to fans to be at their best behaviour at the stadium and desist from pelting missiles on the pitch in excitement or frustration. Other than the heavy fine associated with such acts, there is also the additional damage to our country’s reputation to host international matches.”
“We have also doubled up on security to ensure that fans sit in their designated areas.”
Kamanga has appealed to fans to rally behind the team during the match. “We call upon the fans to fill up Levy Mwanawasa Stadium and cheer our boys to victory. Levy Mwanawasa has emerged as our fortress in the last few games played here and we expect nothing different this time around,” he says.
Kamanga says all logistics are in place for the match tonight.
Zambia plays Congo Brazzaville today (Friday) at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in a Group E FIFA World Cup qualifier.
