Mauritius: The Goodlands Youth Hub organised a ‘fun games galore’ on Sunday at Pavillon in Cap Malheureux. The event was followed by a prize-giving ceremony to award the winners of the event on the same day.

The event was hosted by Goodlands Youth Hub with the aim of fostering community engagement. The initiative was marked by a number of engaging activities. colouring competition, tug of war, archery, bull’s eye, mölkky, and karate and taekwondo initiations, were some of the activities
Minister Nagalingum thanked the initiators of the project. He said that the project was highly crucial for the youngsters. The programme will help in guiding young people toward positive pursuits such as sports and hobbies.
The initiatives such as these help the children in fighting societal scourges. This is particularly true for issues like drug abuse.
If the leadership is able to promote sports culture among children from an early age, they can prevent several issues from cropping up later in life. He highlighted that it was very important to include sports into the school curriculum.
According to the Minister of Sports, this will help to foster discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle.
Youth and Sports Minister said that it was the nation’s responsibility to urge children to participate in sports.
This will help in steering them away from harmful paths. He reassured that the government will give comprehensive support to ensure young participants are nurtured and guided effectively.
Minster Nagalingum said that he has full confidence in the capacity and capabilities of the youngsters in the country. He stated that their progress and achievements would not only enrich their lives but also bring pride and honour to Mauritius.
