Governor Manytuil receives Deputy speaker for parliamentary affairs on his solidarity visit

Bentiu: Governor Lt Gen Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang on Friday received at Rubkona Airport the Deputy Speaker for Parliamentary Affairs- Council of States, R.t Bapiny Manytuil Wejang, who pays solidarity visit to the affected population by the devastating flood in Unity State.

Bentiu: Governor Lt Gen Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang on Friday received at Rubkona Airport the Deputy Speaker for Parliamentary Affairs- Council of States, R.t Bapiny Manytuil Wejang, who pays solidarity visit to the affected population by the devastating flood in Unity State.

The visit of Deputy Speaker for Parliamentary Affairs, R.t Bapiny Manytuil Wejang, and his accompanying Delegation comprised of members of parliament in the National Legislative Assembly and Council of States comes when the entire State engulfed by the devastating flood and hundreds of thousands of people were displaced.

R.t Speaker Bapiny Manytuil Wejang appreciated Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang for the warm welcome and reiterated the utmost commitment of members of parliament from Unity State both in the National Legislative Assembly and Council of States to support the State government in building sustainable peace and development, and relief assistance to flood victims in Unity State.


 

 


R.T. Deputy Speaker also calls on the national government to intervene and provide the necessary support to the flood-affected population in Unity State.

Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang briefed the Deputy Speaker for Parliamentary Affairs and his accompanying Delegation on the general situation and challenges facing the people of Unity State, especially the devastating flood and embarking on roads construction as the top priority of the State government to reconnect seven Counties with the State headquarter.

The governor added that the security situation across the State is normal and peaceful with neighbouring States and Administrative areas, respectively.

Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang and Deputy Speaker Bapiny Manytuil Wejang on Friday made inspect visit to the ongoing construction Panyigai-Kaikang road as well Bentiu- Mayom road.

Speaking to the Press at the Construction site of Panyigai-Kaikang road, Deputy Speaker said the Council of States will support the State government in mitigating devastating floods, and he appealed to the national government to consider the affected population by flood in Unity State and need urgent intervention.

Speaker Bapiny Manytuil Wejang applauded the State government under the leadership of Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang for the extraordinary commitment to providing basic necessities and firm stand with the people of Unity State.

On his part, Governor Lt Gen Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang expressed his gratitude and appreciation to R.t Deputy Speaker Bapiny Manytuil and his accompanying Delegation for the solidarity visit to flood victims and regarded as a historical visit that would be remembered by the people of Unity State.
