Malawi: Hype has organised a music party under the name of Sounds of Africa. The event will be hosted on December 28, 2024 at Amaryllis Hotel, Stakeout Restaurant in Blantyre. The aim of the programme is to explore the ignored African music genres.
Rahim Karim who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Hype shared details of the music event. He shared that the music event Sounds of Africa will be organized under the theme “Taking a journey through the rhythm of the motherland.”
Through the event, the musicians will be exploring the African music genres that aren’t usually played in Malawi. The officials have shared the music genres which will be explored include afrobeat, soukous, rhumba and kanindo.
“It is called Sounds of Africa because of the type of music that will be played on the day. We will strictly be playing African music throughout the event.
“This will help to appreciate how diverse our continent music backgrounds differ. Despite the difference, we shall further appreciate that the music still unite us through the language in the music,” Karim said, adding that entertainment lovers should expect full and memorable musical experience that will draws them closer to African roots.
The attendants can enjoy a variety of foods and drink options according to the theme of the event. The Stakeout Restaurant which will be transformed to give real African music sound,
“There will be an exclusive food and drinks menu tailored for that day on top of a lineup of amazing DJs. The venue of the event, Stakeout Restaurant will be transformed.
Innocent Mpakiza aka Tino the DJ said that he wants to make the experience unforgettable for his fans and admirers. The artists involved in the project have shared that they want to pay tribute to the African Music.
The organisers have said that the event will be a celebration of African culture and people can have the experience of a lifetime. The performers at the event include several prominent artists.
DJ Climaxx and DJ Vinneq will be performing at the event which will start at approximately 3 in the afternoon.
