New Delhi, India: The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, during a virtual meeting about Air India’s acquisition of 250 airplanes from Airbus, stated that India could help end the Russia-Ukraine conflict. As per Macron, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi can mobilize the world, which can help sort out the issue that persists between Russia and Ukraine.

Notably, this is for the second time that the French leadership has hailed the Indian leadership and its influence over the world.

Macron appreciated India’s G20 Presidency, stating that “We are working together for the success of India’s G20 leadership, which comes at the time of a difficult context with Russian aggression against Ukraine. India can be the table-turner in the prolonged Russia-Ukraine conflict under the leadership of PM Modi.

Further, he added that Indian PM Modi was actually right when he stated that this wasn’t the time for war. “It is not for revenge against the West or for opposing the West against the east. It is the time for a collective time for our equal sovereign states. To cope together with challenges we face.”

Moreover, these words of PM Modi were also praised by Russian President Vladimir Putin as they met during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) of Samarkand in Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, the French President hailed the relations that exist between India and France, stating, “The recent deal shows that Airbus and all its French partners are totally willing to develop new areas of cooperation with India. We have achieved so much with India. Considering the potential that India and Indian people possess, We have a historic opportunity to go much further.”

It must be noted that India’s deal includes 40 A350, wide-body ultra–long range aircrafts, while the rest will be narrow-body aircrafts. As Elysee Palace states, this represents the recognition of the prominence of the French industry in aeronautics.

At the same time, Indian PM Narendra Modi remarked the deal as symbolic of India’s development in the civil aviation sector. Moreover, he thanked and congratulated the French President for the deal as he hailed the relations between India-France.
