Zambia (Kabompo): The Area Member of Parliament Ambrose Lufuma and his entourage visited and inspected Nkulwashi Secondary School on Monday.
They also visited the Teachers’ quarters in Kamikabi under the Chikenge ward and paid a courtesy call to Chief Kalunga.
During the inspection, the MP observed that the project in Nkulwashi had stalled. Hence, there is a need to quickly engage the contractor in order to expedite the work for beneficiaries to start benefiting.
He expressed happiness with the work being done in Kamikabi. The construction has greatly advanced.
During the visit, Lufuma paid a courtesy call to Chief Kalungu and assured his royal highness of the government’s commitment to developing chiefdoms around the country.
He said that the government, through the constituency development fund, already has plans to construct chief’s houses and transport for retainers in the country.
He further highlighted the chief of the colourful handover ceremony that recently took place at the Musamba market and how the government is empowering women and youths in the district.
He informed the chef that the government will soon construct a boarding school in Kabulamema ward and a day secondary school in Chikonkwela as among the earmarked projects.
And speaking at the same event, his royal highness chief Kalunga thanked the government for the various CDF projects being implemented in the ward and chiefdom.
Chief Kalunga, however, appealed for the government to expedite the process of electrifying the chiefdom as the health facility was in dire need of power.
Meanwhile also speaking when he inspected the ZICTA network tower project site, Chikenge Secondary School Headteacher Leonard Kampale thanked the government for the upcoming upgraded network tower, which will improve the lives of the officers in the area.
Kampale said that the 4g network tower would also add value to the learner’s curriculum as they will be able to benefit from the ICT lessons.
