KwaZulu Natal: Authorities in Kwazulu Natal captured two individuals for hijacking vehicles in the Temple Valley on Sunday afternoon.
As per the police, one of the cars belonged to an E-Hailing contractor, and the hijackers booked the service as passengers. The car driver told authorities that he picked up passengers from Waterloo and was driving by Temple Valley when one of the passengers brandished a knife, asking to stop the vehicle.
The driver refused to comply with the instructions of the hijackers. Notably, the incident came into light when the Reaction Officers were dispatched to Lotus Road at approximately after receiving reports that Toyota Etios collided with a boundary wall.
Notably, the scuffle between the E-Hailing contractor driver and hijackers resulted in the vehicle veering off the road and colliding with a boundary wall. The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
While attending to the scene, the driver of a red VW Polo stopped and informed Reaction Officers that two men also attempted to hijack him on Pertunia Drive in Temple Valley – KZN.
Officers called for additional backup and proceeded to search for the suspects. They were located fleeing on the same road. The men were immediately confronted and placed under arrest without incident. The first victim positively identified them as the men who attempted to hijack him.
Both suspects were detained at South Africa Police Station (SAPS) Verulam. Residents are in distressed the occurrences of such incidents . Lauding the RUSA Officers, and people called upon the quick action and attentiveness.
