KwaZulu Natal: The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Education, MbaZulli Frazer, congratulated the Educators, Learners, and Officials of Harry Gwala District on their good performance in the 2023 National Senior Certificate Examinations.
The KZN Education MEC congratulated them through their official social media page, in which he said, “Congratulations to all the learners, Educators and officials for successfully passing the NSC examinations.”
MEC Frazer also participated in the Matric Excellence Awards Ceremony, which was hosted by Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Local Municipality yesterday on Thursday in Bulwer, KZN.
Moreover, reports stated that the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education’s Harry Gwala District improved significantly by an increase of 4.6% from 82.5% in the 2022 NSC Results and achieved 87.1% in the 2023 NSC Examinations.
In the campaign, MEC Frazer gave a speech in which he advised learners to choose their careers wisely and to enrol in careers with more chances of employment.
Furthermore, MEC Frazer continued, “We currently have a challenge of graduates who are sitting at home, including qualified teachers, because they chose to specialise in subjects that already have a surplus of educators. ”
MEC Frazer added, ” If you choose to pursue your studies in education, it must be in Mathematics and Science because there is a shortage of educators in these subjects. ”
MEC Frazer, together with Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Local Municipality Mayor, Councillor Sindy Msomi, Deputy Mayor, Councillor Kholeka Hadebe, and Speaker, Councillor Sifiso Phoswa, handed over Awards to the 2023 NSC Examinations Top Achievers in the District.
Moreover, MEC Frazer also shared some pictures of her visit, in which it is clearly visible that she was invited there to distribute prizes to the toppers of the NSC Examinations.
Additionally, MEC Frazer shared another post in which she was giving a second chance to the pupils who failed this year’s NSC Examinations. She also mentioned that the registration process for the NSC Examinations is open.
