London, United Kingdom: Luke Pollard, Labour and Co-Operative Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, opposed the decision made by the Government of the United Kingdom to remove the restrictions on water pollution to build new homes.
He shared his views about the topic on his official social media account, mentioning, “This week Labour led a rebellion in the Lords over the Government’s reckless plans to remove restrictions on water pollution to build new homes.”
He asked some questions through his official social media, too,” Haven’t the Tories done enough damage to our waterways already? Why find new ways of damaging our natural world?”
Pollard further said labour will build the homes Britain needs without polluting our rivers.
People are also showing support for Luke Pollard, one of the users, John Shore, said, “Tories pollute everything. They only care about power, profit and their cronies and sponsors. That’s why the country is in such a mess!”
However, another user seemed desperate as he asked a question from Pollard in which he asked, “Hey Luke, that’s fantastic news… How many council/social housing will you build? We really, really need them most of all. ”
“Em Pugh, our manifesto will set out our house building targets, but we have been clear we need to build considerable numbers of homes that are affordable to buy and rent. Lots of work to do to address the housing crisis,” Pollard answered.
“Em Pugh, that’s great. Affordable Housing means 80% of full price: it’s still unaffordable. Private Rents are now beyond affordable. Probably means more social Housing. But the Government of UK also need to do something with parents with disabilities as they need the home most As it is a reoccurring problem in most trades, practices and services in this city! Dating back to before the pandemic, many people were forced to leave their houses, especially those who were on rent,” said another user.
