Malawi: The Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) has announced their plans to develop and commercialize its stadium. The aim of the initiative is to make sure that the stadium is ready to host some of the big league sports events.
The administration made these remarks at the prize presentation to the winners of this year’s K4.7m Vice Chancellor trophy. The event was hosted on Sunday with several officials of the University and the sports sector of the country in attendance.
The elite sporting events have specific requirements, such as better lighting fixtures, dimensions and seating. The authorities at the University want to put the stadium that they have in their premises to good use.
The team is working dedicatedly to work on this mandate so that the stadium can be used to host commercial events. The university’s Dean of Students’ Affairs, Kondwani Mkandawire has spoken to the media about the plan. He said they would engage the school’s estate management team to find ways to develop the stadium.
