South Africa: The member of the Executive Council for Education in Free State Province, MEC Mamiki Mamboya recently delivered her budget address. She has offered deeper insight into her budget address during an interview with the provincial government.
The official shared her plans for the future of the education sector in Free State. MEC Mamboya has been serving as the MEC for education for over a 16 months. Previously, she held the office for Social Development.
She served in her previous office for over four years and has made several strides in her previous office. Talking about her budget speech for Education, MEC Mamiki Mamboya shared that her address centred around 2 major areas.
The official said that she is focussed on the issue of improving the quality of the Free State Provincial Education System. She also said that she touched on thee topic of making education more inclusive for the students.
The official further noted that she also wants to make sure that the sector under her command can appropriately respond to the needs of the job market and the needs of the economy. The budget address was a reflection of how the next fiscal year will run for the education department of Free State.
Talking about the gist of her budget address, she said that they want to expand their focus towards other educational milestones. The Grade 12 education has remained one of the most heavily monitored milestone for students’.
However, MEC Mamiki said that they want to make sure that they can expand their scope and give adequate priority to education starting from ECT. She wants her department to make sure that the students will be given equal support and encouragement.
The government is conscious that they have to ensure that education opportunities are mad available for all sections of the society. They are working hard to ensure that youngsters have access to all around development in all spheres of growth.
