Dominica: The Minister of Housing and Urban Development in the government of Dominica, Melissa Skerrit, hosted a Women’s Symposium on Saturday. The event was hosted under the theme of Find Your Peace and Purpose. The event was aimed towards empowering women in the country.
The event was hosted at the Fort Youngs Hotel on Saturday where the Minister of Housing Melissa Skerrit got together with women of Dominica. She shared some glimpses from the event on her social media.
The Minister of Housing was extremely excited to note that the event was a tremendous success. The event was hosted after the country celebrated the International Women’s Day.
Minister Melissa Skerrit thanked the participants of the initiative for their support and contribution towards making it a success. She took to her social media to share her delight on the success of the event.
She thanked the featured speakers who delivered insightful remarks at the event. The success of the event was credited to the participants who turned up in large numbers. The women of Dominica were given the opportunity during the symposium to interact and inspire each other.
The event aimed to inspire them to empower themselves and become more confident and powerful in their approach. The event was co-hosted by two renowned speakers Dr Thesla Fitza Lewis and Donna Hinkson.
Both the women have had years of experience in leadership roles and have worked to empower hundreds of women. They shared their experiences and took the opportunity to interact with the attendants of the event.
The participants shared stories and inciteful conversations with the aim of becoming more resilient, self-dependant and empowered. The initiative taken up by Minister Melissa Skerrit was appreciated by the participants.
