Dominica: Melissa Skerrit, the Minister of Housing hosted a Housing and Resilience Financing Symposium on Wednesday. The event was open to all the people of the country who were willing to attend and interact with the industry experts.
The Minister of housing was extremely happy with the success of the initiative and shared some glimpses from the event. Minister Skerrit also claimed that they were planning to make this symposium an annual affair.
Minister Melissa Skerrit stated that the Housing and Resilience Financing Symposium will play an important role in the development of the country. The symposium was hosted over the course of two days with the high level members of the Ministry of Housing in attendance.
The Minister of Housing, Melissa Skerrit noted that the two days of the symposium were very informative and important for the continued growth of the country. The Housing and Physical Planning agencies were one of the major participants of the symposium.
The representatives from the financial institutions of Dominica were also present at the event. According to the Ministry of Housing the event was also open for builders, engineers, architects and academia.
The aim of the initiative was to exchange ideas and knowledge base gained from the implementation of the housing reconstruction and resilience project. The government of Dominica is working hard to provide good quality climate resilient houses to the people of Dominica.
The administration has claimed that the housing sector is one of the most important sectors of the country’s economy. The leadership of Dominica is working hard to promote and develop the sector to realize its complete potential.
Through the housing and resilient financing symposium, the administration also sought to develop a roadmap of priorities to build resilience in the housing sector. The symposium also served as an opportunity to identify financing opportunities to support the said roadmap.
The stakeholders of Dominica learned about many critical aspects of the housing sector through the two-day event. They were happy with the efforts of the administration to develop the country with their welfare in mind.
