South Africa: Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, wishes to congratulate Banyana Banyana mentor Desiree Ellis on her third successive CAF Coach of the Year Award.
“I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate the coach of Banyana Banyana on winning her third Coach of the Year Award. We are excited to see women succeed in spaces that are considered to be dominated by men,” said Nkoana-Mashabane.
“Her win translates to many wins in society. It proves that women and girls are highly skilled and can occupy any space in society. We wish coach Ellis further success in her role and we are confident that her set of skills will continue to benefit women in sports,” added the Minister.
“I wish to take this opportunity to wish the National Women’s Soccer Team the best of luck as they take on Morocco this weekend. I plead that South Africans tune in to watch the game and support our team as they fly the South African flag high,” concluded the Minister.
