Africa: The Mlalazi Council, led by the Mayor, Councilor QT Xulu, today visited the Mthembu family in Ncinyane ward 17. The purpose of the day was to join the Mthembu family in the funeral service for their daughter Sizakele Ntombi Mthembu who was 27 years old.
Sizakele passed away due to the brutal murder of a person who was making fun of him last week on 01/01/2023 in the morning.
The Ward Councilor Mr Ngema, welcomed the guests, the community and everyone who would be cheering on the swanna and the Mthembu. He then reprimanded and warned the community about people who talk nonsense, saying that the Mlalazi Council was complacent about the incident that happened to this family.
Neighbours and friends described the deceased as a loving and respectful person. Speaking for law enforcement in Gingindlovu, Sergeant Gumede encouraged men to know their role in society: to protect and not abuse. He instructed the parents to play their role and raise the children in the right way so that when they grow up, they will be able to stand on their own.
Mother Mayor expressed her deepest condolences and sympathies to the family for the incident that befell them.
Speaking to the community, especially young people, he urged them to collect themselves and be able to behave appropriately and stay away from intoxicants and tap water. He continued his speech by admonishing women to stop the habit of surrendering to men, relying on them, and learning to be independent.
Father Dlamini, who spoke for the family, thanked the Mayor and his team for the role they played in supporting the family since they arrived on Tuesday (03/01/2023) until today’s day of their daughter’s burial. The deceased and the child she was carrying for five months were placed in their final resting place with dignity at home.
