NMBM, in partnership with various stakeholders, donates sanitary towels & Food parcels

South Africa: Today, representatives from the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, the Eastern Cape Gambling board, Vslots, and Eastern Cape social development donated Ntombam sanitary towels to Walmer high school.

This was done as part of a programme to help young women build confidence and prevent them from missing school during their menstrual cycles.

Girls in the eighth through twelfth grades received sanitary towels.


 

 


Ms B. Mbuku, the CEO of Ntombam Sanitary Towels, urged the girls to visualize their lives beyond their current conditions.

She encouraged the girls to focus on self-improvement and advised them to avoid falling into the trap of teenage pregnancy.

The Eastern Cape Gambling board and sun international proceeded to the Mendi Arts Centre, New Brighton, where they handed out food parcels purchased by Boardwalk employees to the Go Gogo Go new Brighton club.

The team also offered to give the elderly folks an experience of sleeping in a hotel, as most of the Go gogo Go members said they had never slept in a hotel before. Officials from the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, the Eastern Cape Gambling board, and Sun International Boardwalk committed to paying for their rooms.
