South Africa: One South African pastor, Luthando Matodlana of God, is Love Ministry in Motherwell, Gqeberha, South Africa, has been found guilty of raping a 22-year-old man.
He is now a rapist in the eyes of the law. He was found guilty on Friday but appeared for sentencing on Monday.
According to LindaIkejiBlog, the happening happened in January 2013 when the victim was still 22 years old. Matodlana was taken into custody after being sentenced on Friday, May 20, but will appear in court for detention on Monday, May 23.
Magistrate Aubrey Mashigo found Matodlana culprit in the Motherwell regional court, saying that the National Prosecuting Authority’s team had proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the former Mpuma Kapa TV resident pastor was guilty.
As per the victim’s statement in court, the pastor called him to his home between February and March. After sitting in the lounge for a short period, Matodlana invited him to his bedroom.
When he entered his bedroom, both men sat on the bed and started a conversation before Matodlana tried to kiss him.
The victim vowed that Matodlana told him to undress, and his rejection angered the pastor. He stated he had been fearful of Matodlana, who made him undress, dragged him onto the bed, pushed him to lie face down and then raped him.
However, throughout the trial, Matodlana continuously denied that he had raped the man.
During the trial, the pastor blamed his victim for being a gay sex worker who had tried to extort money from him.
However, Mashigo rejected the pastor’s allegations against his victim, saying they could not be accepted and were false.
The pastor’s victim took to Facebook to share the details of his sexual assault.
