Dominica: The Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit led a site visit to the Dominica Grammar School. The visit was aimed at checking on the progress of the school construction. The Prime Minister has stated that the Dominica Grammar School will be a equipped with state of the art facilities.
The Prime Minister took the opportunity to interact with some of the construction crew to understand the exact timelines and progress that has been made. One of the aspects that the Prime Minister focussed on, during his visit was that the teachers and students that are currently using the school.
The ongoing construction of the school’s structures, which is scheduled for construction in June 2025, is expected to disrupt the focus of the learning. The Prime Minister observed that they want to make sure that the disruption from the ongoing construction is kept to a minimum.
To this end, the contractors have also spoken to the Prime Minister and assured him that they have taken steps to make sure that the children and staff are not affected by the noise.

The school pledges to to provide the students with top-class learning environment designed to foster academic excellence. Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit said that the students in the Dominica Grammar School will have access to modern classrooms.
The school will have science and computer labs to ensure that the students’ skills aligned with the needs of the modern world. The officials have shared that the school will provide training workshops for various fields:
- Electricals
- Carpentry
- Auto-mechanics
- Food preparation.
The facilities and structure for the school will include a greenhouse. The recreational spaces including a football field and basketball court and other amenities that support an enhanced educational experience.
The Prime Minister has announced that they want to make sure that the school has lifts in order to accommodate children and teachers in all situations and make the people with disabilities and other issues can feel more included
