St Kitts: The government of St Kitts and Nevis has expanded the Sanitary Assistance Program (SAP) to support the people who are in need of toilets and bathrooms.
The people living in vulnerable conditions in St Kitts and Nevis, who do not have access to sanitary facilities like toilets will benefit tremendously from this initiative. PM Dr Terrance Drew was proud to announce that his team has extended this support to the people in need free of cost.
The Prime Minister was sure that this programme will help in improving the life of the people in his nation. The leaders have shared that it is important for the people to have access to safe and clean toilets for the betterment of their standard of living.
The leader has shared that he thought of the programme when he first contested elections from the constituency number 8. The Prime Minister recalled that at the time, almost eleven years ago, he had visited an area which did not have toilets.
The people in this community had to use the plastic bags as makeshift toilets. The formerly practicing doctor Drew understands the health risks that come with this practice.
At this point, he had pledged to end the usage of open latrines and provide modern toilet facilities to the people of St Kitts and Nevis. He has extended his most sincere gratitude to the team who have made this programme possible.
Dr Geoffrey Hanley, the deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis was the first recipient of the Prime Minster’s gratitude. He also extended his sincere appreciation to Ministry of Human Settlement, NHC, and Constituency Empowerment.
The Prime Minister said that he wants to see the people of the country getting access to all the facilities. As such, the Sanitary Assistance Program is a highly crucial programme for the people of the island.
The Prime Minister has urged the people of the country to make sure that they rach out to the administration and get support to build modern toilets for the people.
