South Africa: In celebration of Heritage month, the Premier, Dr Zamani Saul, today joined the Acting Public Protector Adv. Kholeka Gcaleka at the Tol Speelman Community Hall in Upington.
Coupled with the celebration of our heritage, the event aimed to bring the office of the Public Protector closer to the community, ensuring that all service delivery complaints and conduct failure gets reported to the office of the Public Protector.
Members of the community were given an opportunity to interact with both the Premier and the Acting Public Protector and were further invited to utilise the mobile office of the Public Protector to formally lay complaints with the investigators who were present.
In his remarks, Premier Dr Zamani Saul thanked the Public Protector for choosing to celebrate Heritage month here in the Northern Cape together with the Khoi and San communities represented at the event.
The Acting Public Protector, Adv Kholeka Gcaleka, in her address, implored members of the community to form a partnership with her office; and she also commended the leaders of the Khoi and San People for preserving their culture.
