South Africa: Premier of the Free State province, MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae has congratulated the congratulations to the representatives of the province who won at the South African Police Service National Excellence Awards. The awards ceremony was hosted in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal on Sunday, 26 January 2025.
The Police Service National Excellence Awards are organized very year and honours many deserving officers. The officers who have received the awards have bee working tirelessly to excel at their respective jobs.
The organizers havee claimed that the police officers from various provinces weere present at the event. The Premier Letsoha-Mathae said men and women in blue must be celebrated. She made this call in light of the the dangers that the face every day while carrying out their responsibilities.
Premier Letsoha-Mathae also claimed that their win was testament that the Free State province has dedicated and hard-working public servants who strive daily to improve the lives of the people of the province.
Member of the Executive Council responsible for Community Safety, Roads and Transport Jabu Mbalula represented the Free State Provincial Government at the awards.
Decorated detective Bokamoso Peter of the Mangaung Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Investigations (FCS) unit, who is also attached to the Mangaung district serial rapist task team, walked away with the Ministerial Award.
Sergeant Peter has a wealth of experience and over 300 years of incarceration time because of her meticulous police work.
The other winners were Brigadier Makheke, who walked away with the Senior Administration Manager of the Year award (Level 13-15) as well as Lieutenant Colonel Celeste Jackson, who won the Best Administrator of the Year Award.
The Premier congratulated all the winners on behalf of the Free State Province for their achievements Their achievements are a demonstration of dedication, hard work and love for serving our people. I hope this also serves as a motivation to others in public service to work hard so that their efforts are noticed and rewarded.
