South Africa: The premier of Free state Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae meet with the Indian Consul General, Dr. Thelma John David. The Premier of Free state guided the Consul General to her official residence in Bloemfontein.

The meeting between the two leaders signifies that the two regions have taken an important step to improve the collaboration efforts and the partnership between Free State and India. The officials have shared some images from the event on their social media.

The Premier of Free State talked about collaborating with India in terms of several areas of mutual interest including education, agriculture, tourism cultural exchange. The officials have shared that the Free State and The Republic of India are looking into ways to promote better collaboration.

The people of Free State have shared that they are delighted to see their premier make efforts for thee benefit of the state. The two leaders discussed potential ways in which they can  for long-term partnerships to work towards sustainable development.

The Free State Province wants to work with the Republic of India to share their knowledge and expertise. The officials have shared that the Premier Letsoha-Mathae is especially interested in learning from the country’s Green Revolution.

Premier Mathae has acknowledged that the green revolution has played a very important role in addressing food security. The Premier of Free State highlighted that this aligns with the Free State’s goal of reviving the agriculture sector of the province.

During the meeting, Consul General Dr. Thelma John David highlighted that India is commited to enhancing skill development and capacity-building programs. She recalled how India has previously collaborated with South Africa on several issues of mutual interest.

She talked about the Journalist and Public Relations Training Programme which was held at the Dr. MCR Human Resources Development Institute in Telangana in February 2024. The initiative was attended by a delegation of about thirty journalists and public servants.

They were given the opportunity to discuss training at the MCR Human Resources Development Institute in Telangana.
