Botswana: Dr. Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi president of Botswana officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Moshupa-Manyana road project. The groundbreaking for the road project was hosted in the afternoon hours of Wednesday.
The event was attended by a variety of government officials and ministers. The government of Botswana has taken up several road rehabilitation projects in different communities.
The officials have shared that it is important for all the people to be able to travel seamlessly across the nation. Better road infrastructure is not only a necessity for the people of the country, but also boosts tourism.
Travellers from all over the world will enjoy visiting Botswana more if the road and travel infrastructure is up to standards. The most basic part of tourism infrastructure is the roads connecting various parts of Botswana.
The President also highlighted how the road construction is crucial for enhancing transport connectivity and economic development in Botswana. The officials have shared several images from the event on the government social media pages.
The Prime Minister also highlighted that he was happy to see the beginning of the project which would eventually help in boosting travel, trade and connectivity across the nation. The new 35.5-kilometer road will link Manyana, Moshupa, and Bikwe.
The road will be instrumental for improving access to goods and services while generating local employment opportunities. Kgosi Mosielele of Manyana delivered the welcome remarks at the event. He highlighted he wants to see his village turn into a hub for progressive thinking and development.
The traditional leader said that the project would play a crucial role in developing the region and improving the livelihoods of its residents. Kitso Motsoe attended the event as a representative of the Heinsite Construction.
He talked about thee vision of his company for innovation and infrastructure. He highlighted that they always want to build structures that can help to empower communities and foster growth.
Heinsite Construction has been involved in constructing civil engineering projects across Botswana and South Africa. This initiative is part of the Botswana government’s goals under the Transitional National Development Plan. The plan is aimed towards boosting the quality of life for all Batswana.
