President William Ruto lauds US for expanding digital ties with Kenya  

Kenya: President William Ruto of Kenya declared the expand of opportunities through digital ties between Kenya and US at the roundtable conference hosted by the President of United States Joe Biden.

Reportedly, the President of the United States of America hosted President of Kenya to the White House in Washington D.C. for a roundtable meeting on technology.

Considering this, President Ruto lauded the U.S. for providing more resources to the digital space and expressed that this will expand opportunities and will transform lives not only in Kenya but also across Africa.

He added that no partnership is as valuable as one that is anchored on technology.

After the roundtable, President Ruto met with the speaker of the US House of Representatives – Mike Johnson and engaged members of the Congress, both Democrats and Republicans at the Capital of US, Washington D.C.

The president reiterated Kenya-US co-operation and hopes for stronger bonds and partnerships with the US by resolving conflicts and tackling insecurity, especially in the Horn of Africa.

He also held talks with the US Senators which was led by Majority Leader Senator – Chuck Schumer and the Minority Leader Senator – Mitch McConnell.

There, President Ruto was recognised as an Honorary Member of Congressional Black Caucus (CBC).

Furthermore, the Head of State acknowledged the vital role of the Congressional Black Caucus that continues to play in advancing social justice, human rights and economic development across the globe.

He implored Congress to take the lead in reconfiguring the global financial architecture, so that power is not in the hands of only few people.

The president added to his statement and said, “A bold, robust and targeted approach will free Africa of the debt burden and transform the world.”

Notably, at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, President Ruto has paid his respects to the US fallen heroes.

Along with this, William Ruto has launched a plan that will tackle the economic growth challenges related to urban land use and transport, planned in the Nairobi metropolitan.

It is an initiative that aims to benefit more than 4.3 million people referring to as the Kenya Urban Mobility and Growth Threshold Programme.

Following this President Ruto said that the programme is all about delivering results and unlocking greater opportunities for Kenyans.

The launch of the plan was also witnessed by the CEO of Millenium Challenge Corporation – Alice Albright, that took place on Thursday in Washington DC.

President William Ruto explained further that this is an exciting milestone in the growing partnership between Kenya and the United States.
