Recovering from gunshot, victim robbed again in Amoutana – KZN

A 22 year old Ethiopian national recovering from a gunshot injury was robbed for the second time in two (2) days at his business premises.

KwaZulu Natal (Amoutana): A 22-year-old Ethiopian national recovering from a gunshot injury was robbed for the second time in two (2) days at his business premises.

A 22-year-old Ethiopian called the Reaction Unit Members, and they came from the tuck shop on the corner of Fana Khumalo Street & Zondi Way in Amoutana – KZN after receiving reports of the robbery.

As per the local residents, on the arrival of RUSA Officers, the victim explained to them the whole incident. The Crime started when the three men entered the shipping container and robbed him of cash, cellphones and cigarettes.

Reports also stated that they all came in a white Nissan NP 200 bakkie. The research via Reaction officers is ongoing, and so far, they have recovered the bakkie abandoned in Amouti – KZN.

Moreover, Officers attended a robbery at the same store on Monday. The victim was shot in the leg during the incident.

This is the second incident that occurred in the same area. On Monday, 22 year old man resident of Amountana (KZN) died due to robbery. He was also a businessman.

In his case, six members entered his store, and the way of both robberies was also the same as they came through a shipping container. In the Monday robbery, they stole cigarettes, airtime, cash, cellphones and a Flash machine.

However, investigations are still going on, and it is still unknown where they all fled. As per the reports of RUSA Officers, they fled in an unknown direction. But, on of them was stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance. A 9mm spent cartridge was recovered at the scene.

It could not be confirmed if the robbers had a getaway vehicle parked in the vicinity or if they fled on foot.

Residents seemed aggressive, blaming the government for the increment in Crime and asking what the government was doing for the protection of people.
