KwaZulu Natal (Mountview): Five (5) men in a silver Toyota Etios (registration unknown) are being sought for a robbery that occurred on Antelope Place in Mountview, KZN, on Tuesday.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the property after residents reported shots being fired and a female calling out for assistance. On arrival at approximately two afternoons, Reaction Officers discovered an emotional 69-year-old female seated at the entrance of her driveway.
It was established that her son arrived at the property and parked his silver Mercedes Benz on the driveway. The gunmen confronted him as he approached his residence. They robbed him of his bag containing a laptop. His elderly mother called out for assistance when she noticed the robbers attempting to enter the house. The suspects fled from the property and fired shots before they sped off.
The victims were not injured. The reaction of the public was surprising as they feel like crime in the country is increasing, and the police of KZN are arresting people who have no link with a crime.
One of the residents said yesterday police officers were assaulting, tear-gassing and shooting innocent people. Time to protect households! They are no way to be seen cause these criminals are armed.
The president was talking about yesterday’s incident that occurred in Dawncrest in which police officers of South Africa spread tear gas and shot them, especially those who have no link with a crime or something.
People are also talking about crime, which in the past occurred at night or in the day when it might be a deserted place, but nowadays, it starts occurring in broad daylight, which shows that they don’t have fear. “Broad daylight … my heart breaks knowing that this can happen in our country. How can we feel safe as citizens, not even in our own home,” said another users.
