The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire has recently taken up a significant step in uplifting the tourism sector of the country. On Monday, November 6, 2023, he started the world Travel Market in London. The event will emerge as an opportunity for the tourism sector the country to flourish in the international market.
The Minister of Tourism shared some glimpses from the event on his social media account. During the day one of the World Travel Market, the tourism stakeholders interacted with several critical partners.
The aim of the meetings and interactions was to promote the tourism products of Saint Lucia in the international market. During the first day, the tourism stakeholders hosted meetings with the aim of expanding airlift in Saint Lucia and breaking into new markets.
Some of the most prominent Tourism stakeholders who were present at the meeting were: British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. The aim of the meetings was to increase the number of seats into the island during the off-peak season.
The deputy Prime Minister claimed that the conversations have been fruitful for the day one of the event. The Minister of Tourism met with the Saudi Arabian Tourism Authority,
During the interaction, they took the opportunity to explore ways to expand cooperation in the middle east. The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia claimed that there is indeed room for growth in that market and we are dedicated to pursuing these opportunities.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Ernest Hilaire has been making significant efforts to highlight and uplift the sector. The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia attended the Minister’s Summit which was also a part of the World Travel Market Trade Show
The event was hosted in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
The theme for the event was: ‘Transforming Tourism Through Youth and Education’
