Two women from KwaZulu Natal (Esnembe) went missing on Monday. Reaction Unit South Africa asked for public assistance to locate the women on Tuesday.

KwaZulu Natal (Esnembe): Two women from KwaZulu Natal (Esnembe) went missing on Monday. Reaction Unit South Africa asked for public assistance to locate the women on Tuesday.

One woman, Azeera Barath, is 14 years old and is from Esnembe, and another woman, Fathima Khan, is 49 years old and from Longbury – KZN.

As per the family of 14-year-old teenager Barath, she has been missing since Monday and was kidnapped near her school in Esnembe – KZN on Monday, 05/02/2024).

Her father telephonically informed a Reaction Officer that the female proceeded to a tuck shop after school. She is a grade 7 student at Esnembe Secondary School in Esnembe, KZN. Other students witnessed her being forced into a nearby sugar cane plantation by a lone suspect.

She could not be located since. Her family conducted a search of the area without success. Her father further stated that the suspect is known to the family. He is a Malawian National.

However, there is no statement from the Reaction Unit officers and they are still investigating the matter.

On the other hand, Fathima Khan has been missing since Tuesday, and her partner contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) officers a short while ago on Tuesday.

He explained that the female left their residence on Bradcroft Close in Longbury, KZN, on Saturday (03/02/2024) and has not been located since.

She was driving a black Hyundai Getz with registration NJ 10918. The vehicle has a dent on the front left fender. Khan has a history of leaving home for several days without informing her family of her whereabouts.

Reaction Unit officers urged residents to share this post and contact them if anyone has any information regarding the missing women. They also gave their official number or people can also contact them through their Facebook official page.

However, there is no one who contacted officers; they are just praying for the woman; as one of the residents said, “My prayers and thoughts for a safe return to be united with her families.”
