South Africa: The Department of Social Development is closing Mandela Month 2022 with FS Performing Arts and Transport for People with Disabilities (FSPATPD).
On Friday, the Department of Social Development in the Free State was invited by the FSPATPD to join in their celebrations as they welcomed the reigning Mr and Miss Albinism South Africa.
The event was held at the Bon Hotel, Bloemfontein and saw people with disabilities across the province, media personalities officials from departments come together to welcome and congratulate the two and mostly Miss Albinism South Africa, Ms Lerato Sethibe, a proud Free State who hails from Kroonstad.
She was accompanied by Mr Albinism South Africa and Mr Brain Makhubela, who hails from the Mpumalanga Province.
The evening was filled with entertainment provided solely by people with disabilities showing what MEC Qabathe always says. With the creation of an enabling environment, nothing can stand in the way of people with disabilities, and they can achieve anything they set their minds on.
The evening ended on a high with the MEC and the Department receiving awards for their role within the Disability Sector, with the MEC receiving the highest accolade of the evening. The MEC was recognized for being instrumental in recognizing the talents of persons with disabilities in the Free State and ensuring their employment.
