South Sudan: The High-Level Committee of the Greater Upper Nile Region successfully concluded the preparatory endorsement rally in Freedom Hall-Juba on Saturday, November 4th 2023.
Under the theme’ ’Reigniting SPLM for endorsement of Cde. Charmain Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit as flag bearer for 2024 general elections.
The event marks the official launch of the anticipated SPLM Greater Upper Nile Region Endorsement Rally of the SPLM Chairman as presidential flag bearer in Malakal town on the first week of December 2023.
The Preparatory rally is among the crucial elements designed by the High-level Committee as a platform for SPLM members to demonstrate the region’s unity toward the endorsement of the Party‘s flag bearer in the upcoming general elections in 2024.
Addressing the rally, The 2nd Deputy of SPLM Chairman Cde. Daniel Awet Akot congratulates the High-level Committee under the leadership of Cde. Dr Joseph Manytuil for managing to unite the people of Greater Upper Nile in favour of the success of the SPLM in the region.
Awet appeals to SPLM leaders in Greater Upper Nile to work together for the interest of the Party and the people to meet the aspirations of the community.
On his part, the 3rd Deputy of SPLM Chairman, Cde. Kuol Manyang Jok calls on the people of the Greater Upper Nile Region to turn up in Malakal town to celebrate the endorsement of Cde. Salva Kiir Mayardit, saying President Kiir is a man of pure heart and a true liberator who deserves the support of the people of Greater Upper Nile.
Cde. Peter Lam Both remind the SPLM members to start public engagement in their respective constituencies, adding that the leadership of the Unity government completed the legal previous that permits the conduct of the elections in 2024.
In his address, the Chairperson of the High-level Committee for endorsement of SPLM Chairman in Greater Upper Nile Region, Cde. Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang appealed for unity of the people of Greater Upper Nile to achieve peace and development.
Manytuil said the region has been stereotyped as warmongers. It’s time to prove to the people of South Sudan that we are united to champion peace across the country, as demonstrated by our liberators.
