South Africa: The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture congratulate South African golden girl and international opera singer Pretty Yende for her continuance raising of the country flag on the global opera platform.

South Africa: The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture congratulate South African golden girl and international opera singer Pretty Yende for her continuance raising of the country flag on the global opera platform.

This remarkable South African Opera Singer is also the recipient of the Italian Knighthood award known as the Ordine Stella d’Italia for her work in building extraordinary relations between Italy and other countries and has once more dominated the operatic soprano global stage.

This time around, Pretty Yende was awarded the Ceremonial Badge of honour by the French Minister of Culture, Madame Rima Abdul Malak.

When the Presidency a few years ago awarded her the order of Ikhamanga in silver, it was indeed not a mistake. She was well deserving of the highest national honours the country can bestow.

We were able to recognise Pretty for their operatic achievements and her positive influence as a pioneer, role model and cultural ambassador and ever since she hasn’t stopped making the country proud. Well done, as she is indeed a remarkable opera artist.
