SKNABA President – Glenville Jeffers also commented and said that the Basketball City is kind of a need, to play its national competition for which outdoor facilities are essential.
Considering this, Samal Duggins stated that they are thinking of adding indoor facility and various designs have been selected, out of which they are moving on with three ideas and are going to construct accordingly.
During their visit, Minister Duggins stated that he was honoured to significantly renovate the Basketball City, after these so many years.
Furthermore, Jeffers commended Minister Duggins for his leadership on this project. He recalled that he was very positive when the association first engaged the minister on upgrading Basketball City.
He said that SKNABA see that the ministry of sport went beyond in terms of what they have done for Basketball City, which actually not had any major renovation of this magnitude, since it was built.
Jeffers noted that SKNABA has a good working relationship and defended the investment into Basketball City, while plans for the Indoor Basketball Facility are still being developed.
