St Kitts and Nevis: The Ministry of Sports led by Samal Duggins collaborated with officials of CPL to host six matches of this year’s Caribbean Premier League T20 in Warner Park Cricket Stadium, St Kitts. The St Kitts leg of CPL 2023 was hosted from Wednesday, August 23, to Sunday, August 27.
The teams were delighted with the hospitality they were given during their stay in St Kitts, and they expressed their gratitude to Sports Minister Samal Duggins for the amazing arrangements. The teams have now arrived in Barbados and will be there till September 3.
The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 is an annual T20 cricket tournament taking place from August 16 to September 24, 2023.
This year marks the 10th year this event has been running since its founding in 2013. The Jamaica Tallawahs are the reigning champions, with the other five teams being Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Trinbago Knight Riders and Saint Lucia Kings.
The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots played four matches during their home leg of CPL 2023 but did not manage to secure victory even in a single match. The team apologised to all the fans for this result and vowed to perform better in the upcoming matches, which will be held in Barbados, Trinidad and Guyana.
The Caribbean Premier League officials distributed one thousand cricket student-athletes and other young people interested in the sport from St. Kitts and Nevis. They got the opportunity to view some of the best players in the world during the St. Kitts leg of the 2023 Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 tournament (CPLT20).
