KwaZulu Natal (Parkgate): Reaction Unit South Africa questioned an old man (61 years old) after the team recovered a stolen bakkie from his home on Monday evening.

A white Toyota Hilux Bakkie went missing on the New Year, and after seeing the bike on the property, police checked the engine and chassis number and found that the vehicle was the same that was stolen.

However, the 61-year-old male initially refused the claims that he stole the vehicle and said that he had purchased the vehicle for R15,000 in cash and had no record of the seller.

However, later, he changed his statement and informed Law Enforcement that the vehicle was given to him by a known panel beater who misled the client that the vehicle was stolen by unknown suspects from Palmview in Phoenix – KZN.

He offered no explanation as to why he had fitted fictitious number plates on the bakkie while it was in his care.

The South African Police Services (SAPS) were called to the scene & the homeowner was taken in for questioning.

According to SAPS officers, he is still telling lies and cooking the stories, every time he is saying a different thing, which clearly indicates that he is the culprit.

Not only the SAPS or RUSA officers are feeling something fishy, but also the local residents of KZN are feeling the same. One of the residents said, “he knows exactly how he got it; arrest him and charge him.”

Moreover, some of the residents consider him a criminal and connect him with a terrorist group; as one resident said, “He’s part of the Syndicate; interrogate him, and he will spill the Beans.”
