Mauritius: The bravery, commitment, dedication and sacrifices of firefighters in ensuring the safety of communities and the environment were highlighted today, by the Vice-Prime Minister (VPM), Minister of Local Government and Disaster Risk Management, Dr Mohammad Anwar Husnoo, at the Coromandel Fire Station. He was speaking at an event held to mark International Firefighters’ Day, observed annually on 04 May.

CDM also made the following appointments in July 2022. Matome Makhura has been appointed as a Station Officer at Sefako MaKgato Fire Station. Before his appointment, he was a Senior Fire Fighter at the municipality. He holds a National Diploma in Fire Technology from the Tshwane University of Technology.
