Kenya: The Acting Chief Conservator of Forests (Ag. CCF), Alex Lemarkoko, hosted the Youth Empowerment and Development Foundation (YED Foundation) officials for a discussion on how the youth can be involved in the 15 billion tree growing campaign that seeks to increase Kenya’s tree cover to over 30% by the year 2032.
Kenya: The Service has today launched three Participatory Forest Management Plans (PFMPs) and signed Forest Management Agreements with forest-adjacent communities from Pongwe-Kidimu, Mrima and Marenje Community Forest Associations (CFAs) in an event presided over by Dr Elizabeth Wambugu the Principal, Kenya Forestry College ( representing the Ag. Chief Conservator of Forests) and Lunga Lunga Member of Parliament Hon. Mangale Chiforomodo at Mirima Primary School in Kwale County.
Kenya: Green Zones Development Support Project(GZDSP II) hosted a workshop in Naivasha on the Project's Environmental and Social Audit Report Findings. The audit, which is done annually as part of the requirements of the African Development Bank, covered the Eastern, Central Highlands and Mau Conservancies.
Kenya: The Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Hon. Soipan Tuya has called on Kenyans to conserve Wetlands which she said were critical biodiversity areas which provide sustenance to thousands of people.
