KwaZulu Natal (Hazelmere): The body of Mbuyiseni Allen Buthelezi, 41 years old Taxi Operator, has been recovered by his family members this morning (Tuesday) in Hazelmere – Kwazulu Natal.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received the call for assistance in the morning around 6:40, and RUSA officers arrived on the scene a short while later. Paramedics and reaction Officers found the victim was deceased. He suffered two (2) gunshot wounds to the back of his head, a partial decapitation from a deep cut to his neck and bodily wounds.
According to his family, the deceased was a Taxi Operator & was in the company of his conductor on Christmas Day. At approximately 13:00, Buthelezi received a call on his mobile phone with a person requesting to meet.
The conductor was dropped off at his home, and Buthelezi drove off. He could not be located since & his calls went unanswered. On Tuesday morning his family received information that his taxi was seen along a dirt road. When the family got to the scene, they found the taxi abandoned with the engine running.
After a brief search, the body of the deceased was located in a bush several meters away from his vehicle. Spent 9mm cartridges were recovered in the vicinity.
The victim’s wallet, cash & mobile phone were not taken. A 45 calibre handgun belonging to the deceased could not be located. A case of Murder is being investigated.
Family members and Friends of the deceased person are in deep shock. One of his neighbours also said, “This is so sad to the family and friends, I am deeply sorry. I pray that the perpetrators will be caught soon. This is more tragic because while families all around were busy celebrating Christmas, this poor soul was being murdered. My heart is very sore. Rest in paradise sir, So sad to see this.”
