South Africa: The Mpumalanga Department of Education and Culture Sport and Recreation congratulates the Provincial teams which triumphed in the 2022 National Schools Sports Championships held in the Western Cape Province from 04 to 06 July 2022.
The province was represented by talented athletes in Chess, Netball and Volleyball sporting codes.’
The teams really put in a good fight resulting in the Volleyball under 17 Boys and Girls teams clinching gold medals.
The province also obtained a bronze medal in Volleyball against girls under 14.
Mpumalanga Province obtained position two of the overall performance in the three sporting codes after the Western Cape obtained position one.
The provincial volleyball girls teams also scooped accolades for the best Setter, Attacker, Libero and Defender, whereas their male counterparts received the Best Setter Award.
Angel Khoza from Bukhosibetfu Special School was awarded the overall Best Deaf Player of the Tournament.
Both MEC Bonakele Majuba and Thandi Shongwe congratulated the team for flying the Provincial Flag High.
