KwaZulu Natal (Phoenix): Reaction Officers in Phoenix, KZN, arrested a 19-year-old male and recovered goods stolen during a house break-in on Monday.
According to the reports, this incident came to light when Reaction Unit South Africa was patrolling. They found a man exiting a bush carrying two (2) filled pillowcases. The suspect re-entered the bush when he noticed Reaction Officers approaching.
RUSA Members arrested him and discovered the pillowcases filled with several pairs of takkies, outdoor lights, extension cords, a hair straightener and power tools.
During an interview, the teenager confirmed that he had just robbed a residence in the nearby vicinity. He led Reaction Officers to a house on Towerbridge Gardens in Stonebridge – KZN. Neighbours made contact with the owner, who arrived shortly after that.
A bedroom window was discovered ajar, and all the rooms in the house were ransacked. The owner confirmed that the stolen goods, including the pillowcases, belonged to him.
The teenager was placed under arrest and handed over to the Phoenix South Africa Police Service. Crime is increasing day by day in KZN, and robbery cases are at their peak.
On 19 January, one other incident occurred in which a woman Stabbed With an Umbrella During Robbery in Verulam CBD – KZN. In that incident, a 40-year-old woman was injured after she was stabbed with an umbrella during a robbery.
The victim and her 32-year-old work colleague were walking on Todd Street when two (2) men confronted them. Without warning, one of the suspects began assaulting them with a wooden plank while his accomplice grabbed one of the victim’s handbags. Both women fought back in an attempt to prevent the robbery.
During the altercation, one of the suspects deprived the 40-year-old of her umbrella and stabbed her with the sharpened edge of her foot. The men, after that, fled with a handbag. The female sustained a deep laceration to her right foot.
