St kitts: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew has expressed his delight on finding a solution to the water crisis that the communities under constitutional charge have been facing. The Prime Minister said that it is most crucial for the communities to have access to water as it is a basic need.
The members of the community have been asking for the authorities to make sure that the water crisis can be dealt with in a more permanent manner. In response to their demand, the administration has stated the construction of a a two-million-gallon desalination plant.
The desalination plant will be completed next year and will help the people of the country get better access to water. This $50 million project is also creating jobs and boosting the economy of St Kitts and Nevis.
The completion of the desalination plant will not only bring relief to the communities, but also helps the administration in ensuring that the resources are put to good use. In this regard, PM Terrance Drew has shared that he is disappointed with the fact that he previous administration has done nothing in order to address the issue.
The crisis has been constant for almost the whole decade and the Prime Minister of the country has bee working tirelessly to make sure that the crisis is dealt with affectively. The people of the country, in this regard have appreciated the efforts of the administration.
The desalination plant construction had started inn collaboration with the Republic of China Taiwan. The nation has funded a number of development projects for the nation and is one of the oldest allies of St Kitts and Nevis.
The Prime Minister, while sharing some images from the progress of the desalination plant, has thanked Taiwan for their support and encouragement. The nation has been an all weather friend to St Kitts and Nevis for more than four decades.
