Tlokweng, Botswana: Music enthusiasts from across Botswana gathered at the prestigious Royal Aria venue in Tlokweng Sunday night to witness the 12th edition of the Botswana Music Union (BOMU) Music Awards. The event, held under the theme “Music Beyond,” showcased and honoured the outstanding achievements of the country’s musical talents.
The night of glitz and glamour was geared towards celebrating and recognizing local talent as per their different music genres.
Sensational afro pop singer, Han-C received a standing ovation from music lovers after scooping album of the year award. The pint-sized Mahalapye native also scooped Best Afro Pop and Best Male awards. He said having been nominated for two international awards this year is a clear testament that he is the greatest of all time.
Veezo View, Team Distant, Bouncy and DJ Ngwazi, among others, serenaded the audience with their stellar performances.
The awards were made possible by sponsorship from the National Arts Council of Botswana, Botswana Television, Department of Broadcasting Services, Weekend Post and Vib Mobile, among other sponsors.
